Cheap Dental Treatment Abroad?

Some of the clinics list on their websites astronomical UK Prices to convince Patients that they get a much better deal abroad.

But things are changing...

***Fully completed Implant with Crown £1140***

Advice from the General Dental Council

Check the prices:

Yes, of course the fees in India, Hungary or Poland are lower than in the UK. But you should know: only in very few cases the Placement of the Implant and the fitting of a crown can be done at the same appointment. You will need to travel 3-4 times to have you final restoration fitted. Add the Costs of repeated Travel, Accomodation and Loss of Earnings while you are abroad.

Dental Implant Cost to Patients in the UK exceeds the cost for comparative treatment in other countries by far. 10000 UK Patients a year travel to India, the USA or Hungary. Compared with other Countries in the Euro Zone the UK is placing fewer Implants than any other European Country. The reason is that Implant Manufacturers have been able to get away with high prices for a long time ... However with the current economic downturn and the possibilities of the Internet british Patients looking for Alternatives.

The cost of Implants is one of the main factors for the high cost of the Treatment. But there are now High Quality Implants available at lower prices. Unfortunately due to "Brainwashing" and aggressive marketing of the Major Implant Companies many Practitioners in the UK are not aware that the time has come to leave the Comfort zone and be proactive to keep British Patients in the UK.

* A handful of Implant Centres around the UK are charging between £1200 and £1500 for a complete Implant and Crown*

..... we are one of them

So how are we doing it? Are we cutting corners? The answer is: NO! otherwise we would find ourselves in front of the Regulatory Body for Dentists in the UK, the GDC.

...Our Philosophy is: we are making High Quality Treatments affordable and that keeps us busy...

And we simply cannot afford to provide inferior work as we are regulated by the GDC which has a very strict policy in terms of protecting the patients.

In the Past we had several Patients with insufficient and failing Treatment carried out in South East Asia. Even if the Treatment is of a high Standard UK Dentists are reluctant to touch Implants placed abroad...

However, there are very well trained Dentists in clinics abroad who provide excellent work, the question is simply "would you get the same work at affordable prices here in the UK?" and the answer is: YES!

As a German trained Dentist, Dr. Nelz provides prosthetic solutions which are not usually well known in the UK such as Telescopic Double Crowns and Precision Attachments. These options can be a cost effective and less time consuming alternative for Patients who are originally looking for Implant Solutions.

We are not using cheap Implants for example made in South Korea! Our Implant Systems are manufactured in the UK/ Germany/ Sweden (Neoss), Switzerland (Straumann), Germany (Frialit, Ankylos), USA (Legacy, Screw Plant, Bicon)

"Same day teeth" this is a concept to provide a fixed bridge at the same time when the Implants are placed. The fixed bridge can be the final restoration or a
temporary restoration. The concept is based on the use of "computer guided surgery" where the position of the Implants is pre operative determind by placing
"virtual" implants on a reformatted 3 -scan (Simplant) and can be recalled on a modell to enable the dental technician to manufature a temporary fixed Bridge
prior to the surgery appointment. The surgeon will then place the Implants according to the surgical guide and fix the bridge straight afterwards.
The temporary fixed Bridge is ideal in full arch restorations. It will shorten the time of the procedure for the Patient.

Atlantic Dental is able to offer a wide range of Treatments: Dental Implants and associated work like Sinuslifts, Bone Augmentation and Block Grafts. Many Patients want to explore options to replace missing teeth. We often diagnose moderate or severe Bone loss due to prevoius extractions. The jaw bone will "shrink" after the removal of a tooth. Ill fitting dentures will speed up the process of bone destruction. In such cases the placement of dental Implants is often impossible or shows a decreased success rate. The Regeneration or Augmentation of lost Bone is possible. Sinuslifts will enable the surgeon to place an implant in the upper molar area in cases of severe Bone loss. The procedure is explained here. How long can Implants last? Evidence shows that Implants can last for life or at least 30years. Crowns and Bridges on top of the implants however will need replacement after 10-15 years. Dental Material: Crowns and Bridges are made of Metall foundation covered with Porcellain. The Technology is the most common. However, the use of Full ceramic Materials: Zirkonia, Empress, Inceram. Lave and Nobel Procera Crowns is increasing. Especially for Frontcrowns the use of Full ceramic crowns can deliver brilliant aesthetic results. Feldspathic (Conventional) Veneers deliver the best results for "Smile Makeover" However , a combination of orthodontic correction and veneers can reduce the amount of tooth preparation needed.
